Wait For The Lord

From a Harvest Devotional:

"To the faithful you show yourself faithful; to those with integrity you show integrity. To the pure you show yourself pure, but to the wicked you show yourself hostile."
Psalm 18:25-26

God wants to do His will in our lives in His way and in His time. If you need something from God, be patient and wait on Him. God will meet you wherever you are to lift you to where He wants you to be.

So many times, we get impatient and we want things done now! But the Bible tells us "to stand still and wait upon the Lord". There is a reason for this and the reason is so that God can test our faithfulness. He wants us to rely on Him and to trust Him.

That trust thing is hard. I always think if He would just listen to me it would all be fixed. Thanks goodness He knows better.

If God "just listened" to me and did what I wanted, this world would be a much scarier and horrible place. It has taken me awhile to learn that, and sometimes I still need a reminder that God's way is the best way, even if I don't understand it all.

When I read that, I was like hello GOD, I knew you were listening the whole time. Is Greg Laurie some kind of messenger or what. Patience has not been a stong virtue of mine as of late. My passions have got the best of me. Anger can be a dangerous thing. Sometimes, I am like Dee with her response and sometimes I am very patient. But sometimes, well you know. I have acted very angry lately and I apologize to everyone for my disgruntledness. This has been a very good experience for me and my wife. We have grown closer to the LORD in our understanding of our need to be patient but without compromising the message of the need to stand up and take action on reaching people for CHRIST.
